Well, my family took a long trip to California for Christmas, and we stopped at a gas station, and my older sister sat there begging my mom to buy jerky. Then, as we were driving, (I'll admit, It's probably one of those things where you had to be there and/or know my family) she was handing back the jerky to all of us(there are 6 total), and my mom turned suddenly as I was handing my little brother some jerky, and he said, "Gosh! You don't have to be so jerky." *chuckles at family*

ha ha ha. Pretty good. I remember this one time my Youth Pastor had this huge box of jerky. That had expired atleast a year ago, and he didn't know what to do with it. So at youth group one night, he put "Free Jerky" on a table, and left all the jerky out. Me, being the jerky fan that I am, went for it.
I wasn't the only one, lots of other people also tried to consume the expired jerky, but we all ended up spitting it up all over the place, which was hilarious. Later on he decided to give it to small kids who went to our summer camp program-with the same results. XD

I knew as soon as you said Youth Pastor it was going to be good. What religion are you? I'm catholic. Us catholics have fun with our Youth Pastors(or as we call them Youth Ministers not a big difference, but whatever) and core team members. I have a funny church story. This Sunday, my preist was gone, and we had a rent-a-preist, and he gave away 7 dollars during mass. And he picked on JJ(the music person) which we all take turns doing. He was a really fun rent-a-preist.

Rent a preist? That's a laugh riot! I'm a practicing Christian. I can't think of anything as funny as that happening recently...hmm. We have fun with our Youth Pastor too, though our church kids are a little "gangster." He must of gotten tired of having the Jr highers and Sr. highers together, because he split us up. Not that big idea, but it seems that the other kids take advantage of him. Does that ever happen with you?

The Jr. Highers and Sr. Highers at my church have never been in anything together. The Sr. Highers are a bit isolated to tell you the truth. They have their own mass, their own class after their mass, ect. We don't really take advantage of our Youth ministers either. There's a different one for Elementary, Jr. High, and Sr. High. And then there's a core team, who is who we usually hang out with. The Sr. High core team is super awesome.

Lucky. We have sunday school, then our sermon. It's split up by two grades put together I.E. 1&2 3&4 5&6 then Youth group, but now it's 7-8th and 9th-11th and seniors go to the college class. Not many of the guys at my church are really serious, it's annoying.

I know what you mean. I hate those people who are just around because their parents make them. You get a bunch of those everywhere. But I especailly hate it at church. Church should be about loving God and celebrating his creation. But maybe that's just me. I know I go to church for me and for God. Why do you go to church.
This has become less of a guy thread, and more of a jerky-lovers thread.

Guess your right. I used to be one of those "Go-because-the-parents-made-me" people, until I went to a Christian summer camp, and my life changed forever for the better. I'm so much happier now then I was before. I go to church for my relationship with God, and I'm helping out at my church every way I can. I do announcements, set up the education building, operate computers. I even help with our church website sometimes.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what happened to me. I went to church summer camp and my life changed for the better. Of course the REACH team helped, but it was mostly church camp. I would help out at church, except I can't drive, I have a ton of other extra-curriculars, my parents and older sister who can drive are always busy ect. Otherwise, I'd probably help teach the Jr. Highers. I do help with VBS(vacation bible school) and other things like that if I can though.

VBS is always fun. What did you do over the past summer? I was co-leader for the 5th&6th graders. Quite a challenge trying to get them involved in the music/dancing. We also did a day camp. I was a student/teacher in the class on drums. I'm in an Air Force Juinor ROTC thing, which saps alot of time and life out of me. It's a good thing I can care less about scholl work and still get straight A's it's always fun, although I'm one of the few believers there. Most of the stuff I do is on Sunday's or on Wednesdays, so trasportation's not a problem THERE IS NO HOPE. ALL YOUR JERKY ARE BELONG TO US.

This past summer, I couldn't do VBS because I was in summer school getting some credits out of the way. The year before that, however, I did drama. That was a blast. All my church buddies did drama with me, and we got really close.
I do tech for the plays at my school, then on Mondays I have MYSO(band thing), on thursdays, I have clarinet lessons, on Wednesdays, I have nothing, but everyone else in my family is way busy, tuesdays are a bit of a down day, but not much, friday is my relax/social day, saturday is clean the house day, and sunday is family game/relax/church day.
I CROWN ME THE JERKY QUEEN!

Quite the busy one. I'm luckily never that busy-but I'm only a freshman. I can't wait for Jr. year. That'll be a challenge. I'm thinking of doing the drama for VBS this pending summer, but only if there is a bad guy, because bad guys are so much cooler than the good guys. The drama last summer was funny, because a College Student, two Jr. Highers, and a Sophmore couldn't remember their lines worth beans...they were the only people in the skits too.
